ALI KHAN

Electronic music composer and producer, Ali Khan broadcasts deep sounds from his personal studio, located in the middle of Canada’s Prairies.  Like many of his contemporaries, his compositions focus on texture, groove and constant experiments in synthesis and sound design.  Melody is used sparingly and arrangements are restrained, lest the listener feel obliged to conceptualize.

 

Ali started composing music and performing live in the late 1980s, and has been mutating his sound ever since, with no two albums ever sounding the same.  His recent works combine the essence of Zen and precision of electronics to alchemize the principles of space, discipline and peace into a distinctive sound.

 

Ali’s discography includes appearances on Dewtone, Purespace, Lucidflow, Cocoon and Fabric London.  He is also one half of the live/recording act Tonepushers.
