JOE SILVA – FAR AWAY REMIXES – OUT NOW

With the single “Far Away”, Purespace Recordings highlights one of the most ear-worm-worthy cuts from veteran Canadian producer Joe Silva’s well-received
album Memory Fade. The vocal refrain from Sherry St. Germain has no reservations about the song’s infectious effect, singing, “You came into my mind, you
haven’t left it yet.” Combined with the hook, lush pianos, and all-around sultry vibe, the original was begging for different takes.

Joining Joe Silva in re-envisioning his chunky house gem are Dano and DJ Freestyle. First, Silva reimagines his own track as a more stripped-back, driving,
and chopped-up version for his 2nd Thought Mix. He eventually introduces different vocal pitches and treatments in a welcome change-up.

Dano — real name Daniel Hruby — is a California-based DJ / producer. He is known for his acclaimed releases on Red Melon Records as well as club-bound
tracks on labels like 2020:Vision and NRK Sound Division. Soaking the original in even more of its own medicine, Dano layers things in a much more pungent
way. The drums are washed over, leaving them further down in the mix, while effects weave in and out over top of the melodic elements. Reversing course on
his Melon Dub, Dano takes another crack at the piece by exaggerating its tech features in a sparser sonic landscape.

Colin Russell, aka DJ Freestyle, is an Australian producer and studio engineer with an extensive DJ career behind him. His releases have graced labels like
OM and Kolour Recordings. His take on “Far Away” features ever-evolving ’90s rave stabs and a bass line with sights firmly set on impacting bodies. It’s a
hard-nosed take on dance floor sounds that never lose their edge or effect. An instrumental of Colin’s remix is included as an extra option as well as a
Perc-Apella that highlights the standalone power of the vocals. It’s perfect for DJs who really like to work the mix.

Purespace Recordings and Joe Silva, with the help of Dano and DJ Freestyle, have managed to improve upon an already infectious song with added energy and
dance floor determination.
